 پروژه ی هاوبه شی زانکوکانی کوردستان و کالیفورینا بو به ره نگاری توند و تیژی دژ به ژنان 

Project Background:

Sandie Morgan, the Director of the Global Center for Women and Justice at Vanguard University, has been partnering with University of Duhok in Kurdistani Iraq since 2010 to build capacity for women’s studies in an effort to reduce violence against women. Through that partnership Prof. Morgan has worked with Dr. Major Sami, the Duhok Director of the Directorate to Combat Violence against Women. Dr. Sami spoke at Vanguard University in October 2012 and is returning in May with a delegation from the University of Duhok for further development. This is a rare opportunity to impact the regional development of the infrastructure to reduce violence against women. The team includes the Directors of all three KRG Regional VAW Directorates, as well as the Director of the Ministry of Interior, 4 faculty from University of Duhok, 2 Victim Service directors, and 2 training coordinators. The trip will include 3 days of training in partnership with Westminster Police Department April 30 – May 2 under the direction of Derek Marsh, former Chair of the OC Human Trafficking Task Force, as well as additional training days with Federal Court Judge David Carter, OC Child Abuse Special Teams, the Anaheim Family Justice Center and OC Sheriff’s Department
